K-Laser Therapy: Treating Chilblains with K Laser

With the cooler weather in Melbourne an unlucky few suffer from the painful and frustrating condition of chilblains.

Chilblains is a condition that predominantly affects the toes (though, they can pop on other areas of the body too).

They are caused by the little blood vessels in our toes having an overreaction to the cold weather, limiting the blood flow to the tissue in our toes.

This shutting off the of the blood vessels deprives the toes of oxygen and causes damage to the toes.

This results in painful chilblains. The chilblains can ulcerate and even get infected and require antibiotics.

Frustratingly for podiatrists there have been very few treatment options for chilblains over the years.

Chemists offer ointments that can be somewhat helpful, and we have normally suggested limiting exposure to the cold. But that is also much easier said than done if you call Melbourne home.

This frustration and inability to help is one the reasons we invested in a K laser as it is one of the very few viable treatment options for chilblains.

How does the K-Laser work for chilblains:

Chilblains are caused by an overreaction of the blood vessels in the extremities (most commonly the toes) to cold weather and rapid temperature changes.

In some people the blood vessel will shut off quickly, starving the toes of blood flow and oxygen.

The K Laser can stimulate healing and recovery in toes affected by chilblains and achieve some fantastic result by increasing blood flow, helping increase the supply of oxygen and stimulating the cells to heal faster.

This can result in a much more rapid recovery from chilblains.

How many K Laser treatments will I require for Chilblains?

Generally, when treating chilblains with K laser, only one or two sessions are required to create healing.

How much will treatment cost?

We charge $39 dollars on top of our normal treatment fees.

Where can I get k laser treatment?
