Who are we:
Hurst Podiatry is a team of experienced podiatrists with a passion for finding the solutions to the problems that prevent our patients from doing the things they love. Our core purpose is to provide amazing clinical outcomes that allow our patients to recover and get back to being happy, healthy and mobile. Our team provides a range of services across five locations in eastern Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.
At Hurst Podiatry our team come first and they love coming to work in a friendly and inclusive environment and share our facilities with a team of leading sports physiotherapists and a sports medicine doctor. We have invested heavily in high end technologies like K laser therapy, shockwave therapy, therapeutic ultrasound and 3D gait labs to help you provide the highest possible clinical outcomes.

The role:
We’re offering a fantastically flexible role that can be either part or full time across all our sites. This will involve working in purpose built fully equipped rooms alongside our team of podiatrists, sport physiotherapists and sports medicine doctors. Our full time position also has the opportunity to include a day a fortnight working from home on business development roles.

Hurst Podiatry is a team of experienced podiatrists with a passion for finding the solutions to the problems that prevent our patients from doing the things they love. Our core purpose is to provide amazing clinical outcomes that allow our patient’s to recover and get back to being happy, healthy and mobile. Our team provides a range of services across five locations in eastern Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.
Shifts available may consist of days and evening. We need a vibrant person with a big smile and great conversation skills to make our clients feel welcome. Key traits will include good organisation skills and excellent computer skills are essential. Professional telephone etiquette is also a major requirement of this position.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Ensuring a friendly and professional service is provided to our lovely clients
- Meeting and greeting clients on arrival to the clinic
- Answering client enquiries and making appointments and rescheduling where need be
- Preparation and receipting of client accounts (private and bulk billing) change to Preparation and receipting of client accounts (private and third party payees)
- End of day banking reconciliation
- Ensuring all treatment rooms/workspaces are adequately cleaned, stocked and prepared

Pathways in Podiatry
One of the most challenging things in working in health is it can feel like our careers hit a ceiling pretty early on. We spend our first few years developing our clinical skills but once we begin to master our craft what do we do next? It can feel like there’s where to go and we’re stuck doing the same thing every day. We have developed a career pathways program that gets you past this problem and able to progress beyond just treating to the career goals of your dream whether that specialising in a particular area, working less days, traveling more regularly, ownership or simply earning more money.
Below is our Hurst Podiatry Pathway matrix to find our more about each role hover your mouse over them to reveal a description of each. Please note each pathway can be adapted uniquely for you and elements of each can be combined. Most are not mutually exclusive meaning you could combine pathways like specialisation and high income. This role is for Podiatrists who have recently graduated university and are looking for support and development. Its main focus is on mentoring and fostering your skills and knowledge as you enter the workforce.
This role is generally for podiatrists in their second and third year out of university. This role is all about consolidating your clinical skill set and beginning to develop into areas of special interest.

This pathway option puts high value on work/life balance. If you choose this pathway as your focus we will work with you to fit in any non-work related areas of interest you may have we understand family comes first and make sure your week is built around that.
Travel

This pathway might be for you, in this pathway we allocate additional leave time to you every year and work ahead with your schedule so that you can regularly block out time and see every inch of the world you’re keen to but still have the security of a great job to come back to.
Sports
(available at lower levels)
This pathway is for the active podiatrists. If your focus is on a sporting pursuit we can work with you in this role to make sure you have all the time and clinical hours you need built around your sporting schedule. This pathway gives you the perfect balance between your sport and your work life.
This role is typically for a podiatrist with four plus years of experience. This role can be totally bespoke based on the areas of the industry you enjoy and your desired life balance. It can include some of the other pathway option mentioned like specialisation, clinical leadership and mentoring, higher income and ownership.
Want to smash those savings goal, looking to buy a house? This pathway might be your perfect fit. This pathway focuses on positioning you to make the most of your week buy focusing on achieving a high income. We do this by setting your week and hours up so you can help higher yielding clientele and by upskilling you with other additional skills to help this clientele and market you accordingly
This pathway is for podiatrist with a leadership and mentoring streak. This pathway focuses on initially developing out your clinical skill set with a view towards then allowing you to pass that knowledge onto the rest of the team. This role includes being allocated time and paid to do tasks like run CPD nights, mentor junior team members and develop treatment protocols for the clinic. It also has the ability to move towards ownership in the future.
In this pathway we set your week up so you can knock out a 5 day week in 4 and have a permanent 3 day weekend! Sounds good? Even better in this pathway you’ll still receive a full time equivalent salary.
Got an area of podiatry you love? In this pathway we support you to develop into your chosen area of specialisation by setting your week up to allow you the time and giving you the training to progress in your area of specialisation. Be it surgical, sports or biomechanics we’ll make sure you get the time and help you need to progress. Even better we will work with you to market you in that field so you see more of your ideal patients and get to do more of the tyoe of work you love.
