What does wearing a moon boot feel like?

When you first start wearing a moon boot, they can feel quite odd and often people describe them as heavy.

They take a little while to adjust to, as they have a “rockerbottom” base that rocks the foot while it walks, meaning the boot effectively walks you. This sensation takes a bit of getting used to, but most people adjust within a day or two.

Some patients report a sense of unevenness in the legs or the back when wearing a moon boot. This can be due to the height of the boot relative to the normal shoe on your “good foot”. To help with this, we offer a product called an even up that can be fitted to your other shoe to lift it up to the same height as the boot foot which can help to level out your back and legs.
