What is the NDIS?

The NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which was created in 2013.

The program offers funding to people with disabilities to help improve their quality of life, manage their medical needs and help them stay happy, safe and mobile.

Hurst Podiatry is registered with the NDIS and help provide general foot care, home visits, orthotics, and most of our other podiatry services to NDIS eligible patients.

If you have an NDIS package, our admin team can advise the services we offer to you. Call us today to discuss your needs.

What are aged care packages?

Aged care packages or Home Care Packages are essentially funds supplied by the government to help elderly people stay at home and get the help and support they need.

In the podiatry world aged care packages can be used to fund things like general footcare, home visits, orthotics and footwear.

Hurst Podiatry hold contracts with a number of aged care service providers but feel free to speak to our admin team to see if you can be treated by us through your provider. We can normally form an arrangement with a provider if they are not already on our list of companies we service.

Call us today to discuss your requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you see me if I am on NDIS or have an aged care package?

In almost every instance, yes we can. Sometimes, depending on your package provider, we may need to organise some additional paperwork or something. The best thing to do is to give our reception team a call and discuss your situation. We will be able to advise you whether we can help you and what may need to be organised before your consultation.

  • Will I need to pay on the day or can you bill directly?

In most cases, as long as the required paperwork and referrals are in palace prior to an appointment, we can send any invoices directly to whoever manages your NDIS or aged care account. This saves you dealing with any accounts at all! We can discuss everything that is required prior to your appointment.

  • What podiatry services can be funded through aged care and NDIS?

Most of our services and products at Hurst Podiatry can be funded through these packages. Some things require pre-approval but our admin team and podiatrists can help guide you.
